My wife had an 8:30am appointment so she went straight after her 12hr shift at the hospital and got there at 8:15am. While she waited the receptionist said that the doctor was running late. At 8:30am she saw the receptionist send in one man, so she asked the receptionist why is the man who came after her is going before her, and she said that my wife’s 8:30 appointment is actually 8:50am not 8:30. So my wife sat patiently awaiting her time, only to see the receptionist send in two more men by 8:50. My wife just had enough of the unprofessional,unfair,disrespectful ways of the receptionist. My wife felt that she was discriminated because she was the only person of color and the three men who were sent before her were all white. She was very upset, disappointed and hurt by this especially seeing that she’s also in the medical professio. She then simply asked the receptionist to cancel her appointment To which the receptionist never addressed the situation but simply asked her if she wanted to reschedule.
